Master Chief Ginetti has recently passed away. He willed his boat, the Undine, and its logs, to his son, Charles Ginetti. Charles is a Silicon Valley icon, who started a GPS company and built it from the ground up. The Chief's will specifies that Charles should go out on the Undine and read the logs.

Sierra Marney is a fourth generation lighthouse keeper. Her family has been tending the Pigeon Point lighthouse since 1872. Sierra is intimately familiar with the legions of wrecks, and the terrible loss of life that has happened at The Point. She lives a lonely life at the isolated lighthouse.

When Charles' trip goes wrong, Sierra is there to help him find his way.
